Three militants nabbed, arms recovered in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 21 (UNI) Three militants were nabbed by Manipur Police and arms recovered in Imphal West, Jiribam, Thoubal and Kangpokpi districts during the last 24 hours.
Police said on Friday that police arrested three cadres of KCP (MFL) from Lilong Chajing Mamang Leikai under Singjamei-PS, Imphal West District. They were involved in abduction for ransom.
During an operation, one SLR with magazine, one pistol with magazine, cartridge, grenade without ignitor set, and military helmet were recovered from Apunlok Canal (between Kangchup and Singda Kadangband) under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District.
In another operation two 7.62 mm SLR, 303 live ammunitions were recovered from Yairipok Gwarok under Yairipok-PS, Thoubal District.
In yet another operation, two 7.62 mm rifles and large numbers of ammunition and war-like materials were recovered from K. Geljang and K. Patbung village under Kangchup – PS, Kangpokpi District.
One hundred sticks of Stardyne-901 (class II CAT-ZZ explosives) weighing about 12.5 kg (125 grams x 100) and 20 live rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition were recovered from Uchathol Mayai Leikai under Jiribam PS, Jiribam District, in another operation. In the same district, in another incident, a locally made single-barrel gun, a 12-bore rifle, a pistol, a pompi, a pompi bomb, an IED (remote and electrically initiated) and two gelatin sticks were recovered from Moulzawl and Binselu Rubber Plantation, Jiribam.
