WB: Union minister Sukanta Majumdar appeals people not to heed any rumour regarding shortages of food in border areas

Kolkata, May 10 (UNI) Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Saturday appealed to the people living in the border districts to be vigilant and urged them not heed any rumour that the essential goods and food were in short supplies in view of the Indian Armed Forces Operation Sindoor.
Union Minister of State for Education and Development of Northeastern States, Majumdar, said in the
aftermath of Operation Sindoor, certain misleading information was being spread regarding shortages of essential goods and food supplies in the border areas, which was misleading and baseless.
He appealed to all citizens not pay heed to any such "false propaganda".
"India has abundant reserves of food and essential commodities, and our supply chains are fully active and capable," Majumdar, who is also BJP's West Bengal unit president, said.
He said there was no need to panic or hoard items unnecessarily.
"What is most important at this moment is restraint, vigilance, and unity. Have faith in the nation—India is not only safe but fully capable of dealing with every challenge," Majumdar reiterated.
