Drone awareness programme sparks curiosity among Lunglei school students

Lunglei, Jan 15 (UNI) In a bid to familiarise young students with emerging technologies, a Drone Education and Awareness Lecture was held for students of Classes VI to VIII at a local school in Lunglei. The programme was organised by the Advanced Drone Tac Lab, Lunglei, under the command of Lt Col Prashant R Kakade, Officer Commanding “ALPHA” Company, 166 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (H&H) Assam.
The session offered students an engaging introduction to drones and unmanned aerial systems, blending education with hands-on experience. Through informative videos, demonstrations of real-life applications and live drone flying displays by trained instructors, students were introduced to the practical uses of drone technology in a manner suited to their age and understanding.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the hands-on flying session, during which students were allowed to operate training drones under close supervision. The opportunity to fly drones firsthand generated keen interest and excitement among the students, with many expressing a strong desire to learn more about drone technology and its applications.

The uproar forced Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House till 4 PM without conducting any business.

Meghalaya assembly Speaker disallows adjournment motion on coal mine blast
