Sonu Sood appeals for calm amid IndiGo flight cancellations, delays across India

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) Actor Sonu Sood has appealed to travellers to remain calm and avoid targeting airline ground staff following widespread delays and cancellations by IndiGo, which disrupted travel at several airports across India.
Thousands of passengers were stranded in recent days, leading to heated arguments and confrontations inside terminals, many of which went viral on social media. Videos showed frustrated travellers shouting at staff and demanding updates on flight schedules.
On Saturday, Sood shared a video message on X urging compassion for airline employees, emphasizing that ground staff are often helpless and have limited information to share.
"Friends, this is a small message for those who have suffered on IndiGo flights the past 2-3 days. My own family had to wait 4.5–5 hours before their flight took off. Many flights were cancelled, leaving passengers unable to attend weddings, meetings, or events," Sood said.
He continued, "The saddest part is seeing people shouting at airport staff. I understand the frustration and pain, but imagine being in their shoes—they often don’t know future schedules themselves. Those who have information can only pass it on."
Sood urged, "As responsible citizens, we must control our anger, stay calm, and treat them with respect."
Meanwhile, on Friday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced the formation of a high-level, four-member committee to review the circumstances behind the recent operational disruptions at IndiGo Airlines.
