Global stories take center stage at ‘WAVES Film Bazaar 2025’

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The 19th edition of WAVES Film Bazaar, India’s flagship film market, is set to return with a strengthened Co-Production Market for both feature films and documentaries.
This year’s edition will showcase a curated slate of projects selected for international financing and festival circulation.
The WAVES Film Bazaar will take place from November 20 to 24, 2025, at the Marriott Resort, Goa, alongside the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
As part of its Co-Production Market, Waves Film Bazaar will present 22 feature film projects that reflect a diverse, global storytelling landscape. The selection includes works from India, France, the UK, Canada, the USA, Russia, the Philippines, and Singapore, representing a rich mix of cultures and cinematic voices.
These projects span an impressive array of languages, including Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Manipuri, Tangkhul, Nepali, Malayalam, Haryanvi, English, Gujarati, Ladakhi, Konkani, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Russian, Sanskrit, and Odia.
Participating filmmakers will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to international and Indian producers, distributors, festival programmers, financiers, and sales agents during the Open Pitch session. The event serves as a springboard for one-on-one meetings and potential future collaborations.
In addition to the feature lineup, this year’s Co-Production Market will also present five documentary projects, covering a wide range of genres and themes—Arts, Music and Culture, Environment, Sustainability, Education, Women’s Movements, Gender and Sexuality, Anthropology, and more.
The 2025 selection offers a dynamic mix of emerging talent and established industry voices, featuring acclaimed filmmakers such as Kiran Rao, Vikramaditya Motwane, Shakun Batra, Devashish Makhija, Ira Dubey, Sarita Patil, Shaunak Sen, and BAFTA-winning director Ben Crichton, among others.
Waves Film Bazaar has also announced a collaboration with the Asia TV Forum and Market (ATF). As part of a project cross-exchange initiative, the Co-Production Market Feature will include a project titled “Gloria.”
Additionally, three projects will be showcased under NFDC’s Handpicked Focused Projects: “Shamed,” “Smash,” and “Tiger in the Lion Den.”
