‎Congress mourns Mohsina Kidwai, Kharge pays tribute to Veteran leader

‎‎New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) ‎Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mohsina Kidwai as one of the most respected leaders in Indian politics.
She represented both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha at different times, serving as a voice for social justice, women’s empowerment, and inclusive development. She also held several key ministerial portfolios in the union Government, contributing to policy-making at the highest level.
‎Within the Congress, she played a pivotal role in shaping party strategy as a senior member of the Congress Working Committee and the All India Congress Committee.
She was known for her mentorship to younger leaders and her unwavering commitment during periods of political turbulence, guiding the party with a steady hand.
‎Kharge described her death as “a profound loss to the Congress party and to the nation,” and extended his condolences to her family, friends, and admirers.
“My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and countless admirers. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
‎In addition to her parliamentary and party roles, Kidwai served as Chairperson of the Haj Committee, ensuring smooth arrangements for Indian pilgrims, and remained actively engaged in social welfare initiatives.
