IndiGo reports Rs 610 crore refunds, eyes Dec 10 for full stabilisation

New Delhi, 7 Dec (UNI) As IndiGo raced to meet the government’s 8 pm deadline to refund passengers affected by the country’s largest airline disruption, the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Sunday said the carrier had processed refunds worth Rs 610 crore so far. IndiGo also indicated that it now expects operations to stabilise by December 10, revising its earlier guidance of a December 10–15 recovery window.
In a statement, the Ministry said: “To ensure financial protection for passengers, the Ministry issued strict directives to IndiGo requiring that all refunds for cancelled or severely delayed flights be completed by 8:00 pm today. IndiGo has so far processed refunds totalling Rs 610 crore.”
The government also noted that no additional charges should be incurred for rescheduling the travel impacted by cancellations.
