Govt reduces Indigo's winter slots by 5 pc amid cancellations

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 9 (UNI) Amid the disruptions in the Indigo flight operations, the centre govenment has ordered a cut by five per cent on the airline's winter schedule 2025.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's notice, Indigo has increased its departures by 9.66 per cent in comparison to Winter Schedule 24 (WS 2024) and by 6.05 per cent in relation to Summer Schedule 25 (SS 2025). However, the airline has not demonstrated an ability to operate these schedules efficiently. Therefore, it is directed to reduce the schedule by 5 per cent across sectors. especially on high-demand, high-frequency flights, and to avoid single-flight operations on a sector by Indigo.
Accordingly, the DGCA has asked the airline to submit a revised schedule by 5 pm on Wednesday, December 10, the order read further.
