PM Modi, other Union ministers greet people on 76th Republic Day

New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the people on the 76th Republic Day and said, "May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution"
In a post on X, he said, "Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity and unity".
He added, "May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India".
India is celebrating the 76th Republic Day today, with the grand parade at Kartavya Path in Delhi leading the celebrations.
President Murmu will lead the nation in marking the occasion from Kartavya Path.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the chief guest for the parade.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the citizens on Republic Day saying, "Republic Day is a symbol of faith in the constitutional values of India, firmness towards social equality and dedication towards democracy".
"On this auspicious occasion, I pay tribute to all the freedom fighters and the constitution makers who laid the foundation of a strong republic.On this Republic Day, let us pledge to actively contribute to the creation of Modiji's developed and self-reliant India" he wrote on his X handle.
Greeting people, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said: "This is an occasion to celebrate our democracy and cherish the ideas & values enshrined in our Constitution. Praying for the continued progress & prosperity of our country."
Union Minister and BJP president JP Nadda saluted the constitution makers, freedom fighters and the country's brave soldiers who keep the nation's sovereignty, unity and integrity intact.
