ECI distributes over 50 cr forms in Phase II of SIR

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) Tuesday announced that more than 50 crore electors have received enumeration forms as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase II, which began on November 4 and will continue until December 4, 2025. This extensive door-to-door verification effort aims to update and refine voter details across the country.
The states and union Territories involved in this phase include Andaman & Nicobar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. To facilitate the process, the ECI has deployed 5.33 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 10.41 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
Distribution progress varies among regions, with Goa and Lakshadweep achieving 100% distribution, Uttar Pradesh distributing 15.33 crore forms (99.29%), Madhya Pradesh 5.72 crore forms (99.69%), and West Bengal 7.63 crore forms (99.64%).
