We have to support one-another on sensitive Manipur issue: FM in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) Noting that instances of violence in strife-torn Manipur have been declining and everyone needs to support one another on the sensitive issue, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said that a contingency fund of Rs 500 crore has been created for the state.
Replying to the discussion on The Appropriation Bill, 2025, the Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2025, the Manipur Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill, 2025 and the Manipur Appropriation Bill, 2025 in Rajya Sabha, the Minister said that the fund created for the state would help meet emergent situations.
Sitharaman said that major infrastructure projects in the state of Manipur are being given priority by the government.
She said that the government is doing everything to restore normalcy in the state and also stated that "we have to support one another" on the sensitive Manipur issue.
Following the Minister's reply, the Rajya Sabha returned the Appropriation Bill, 2025 & the Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2025, the Manipur Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill, 2025 and the Manipur Appropriation Bill, 2025.
During her reply, the Finance minister stated that India's household debt-to-GDP ratio is relatively
low compared to emerging market economies and some advanced nations.
