Hope for early return to normalcy, ensuring safety of Hindus, minorities: PM Modi in greetings to Mohd Yunus

New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed his best wishes to Nobel Laureate Prof Mohd Yunus on taking over as head of the interim government in Bangladesh, and said that India hopes for an early return to normalcy, and ensuring the safety and protection of Hindus and other minority communities there.
In a post on X, PM Modi said India remains committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfil the shared aspirations of both their peoples for peace, security and development.
“My best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus on the assumption of his new responsibilities.
“We hope for an early return to normalcy, ensuring the safety and protection of Hindus and all other minority communities.
“India remains committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the shared aspirations of both our peoples for peace, security and development.”
Earlier, in the evening Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as the chief of the interim government of Bangladesh at a ceremony in Dhaka.
