Congress Leaders honor Birsa Munda's 150th birth anniversary, Mark Janjatiya Gaurav Divas

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra paid heartfelt tributes to the iconic tribal leader Birsa Munda on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary, which is officially celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.
Rahul Gandhi recalled Munda's unwavering commitment to conserving Jal, Jangal, Zameen (water, forest, and land). He stated that Munda's "courage, struggle, and sacrifice will always continue to inspire us for the honor of tribal identity and justice."
Mallikarjun Kharge lauded Munda's leadership of the Ulgulan movement against British colonial rule, asserting that "His life message will continue to inspire the countrymen." Kharge also extended greetings to the people of Jharkhand on their Foundation Day, wishing them happiness, prosperity, and well-being.

NIA court sentences key accused in Pakistan Taliban linked terror radicalisation case to seven yrs RI

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has convicted and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) a key accused in a terror radicalisation and recruitment case linked with the proscribed Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist organisations.
The NIA special court in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has also imposed a fine of Rs.63,000 on Maharashtra resident Hamraz Worshid Shaikh, who pleaded guilty during the trial that began in April 2026.
