UP government bans Aadhaar from being used as proof of date of birth

Lucknow, Nov 24 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has banned the use of Aadhaar card as a birth certificate.
The government has clarified that Aadhaar card will not be accepted as proof of date of birth. In this regard, the government has issued instructions to all departments, stating that Aadhaar card should not be considered a valid birth certificate for any government process, service, or certification.
The order issued by Special Secretary, Planning Department, Amit Singh Bansal, recently states that this decision was taken based on a report from the Lucknow regional office of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
