Prayagraj, Jan 22 (UNI) On the lines of State Capital Region (SCR), the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal of Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development region.
The decision was taken during the cabinet meeting held in Arail area of Maha Kumbh Nagar under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
During the meeting many important proposals related to road infrastructure, employment generation and medical sector were approved.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) allies in the cabinet, Apna Dal (Sonelal), Nishad Party and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) were also present in the meeting. Earlier, a meeting of the Yogi Cabinet was held on the occasion of Kumbh Mela here in 2019.
Welcoming all the revered saints and devotees who came to the Maha Kumbh in a press conference held after the meeting, the Chief Minister said that this is the first time that the entire cabinet of UP is present in Maha Kumbh Nagar.
Policy issues related to development and issues related to the development of Prayagraj were discussed in the meeting. Five years of UP's aerospace and defence and employment related policy have been completed and the proposal for its new policy has also been approved.
Yogi announced that medical colleges will be built in three new districts, Baghpat, Hathras and Kasganj, which will improve health facilities and provide employment opportunities to local youth. He said that his government is committed to the all-round development of Prayagraj.
The CM said, "Under this, the proposal of Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development Region has been approved on the lines of SCR, while the Ganga Expressway will be connected to Purvanchal Expressway via Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, Chandauli and Ghazipur from Prayagraj. On the other hand, Sonbhadra will be connected via Varanasi to Chandauli."
He said that this route will be known as Prayagraj-Vindhya-Kashi Expressway. Discussion was held in the meeting regarding Varanasi-Vindhya Development Region. The proposal to link Ganga Expressway to Bundelkhand Expressway to connect Chitrakoot to Prayagraj has been approved, while work is being done to facilitate the connection to Rewa National Highway.
Yogi said that the proposal for construction of a new bridge parallel to the Signature Bridge on the Yamuna river in Prayagraj has been approved in the meeting, while for connectivity from Prayagraj to Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Azamgarh Gorakhpur, a four-lane bridge between Salori-Hetapatti Jhunsi has been approved.
He said that approval has been given for issuing municipal bonds for Prayagraj Municipal Corporation, Varanasi Municipal Corporation, and Agra Municipal Corporation and obtaining approval for providing funds for credit rating enhancement from the Infrastructure Development Fund.
In the meeting, Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence Unit and Employment Promotion Policy 2024 was approved. Apart from this, the proposal has been approved for upgradation of 62 State Industrial Training Institutes of the state with the cooperation of Tata Technology Limited and setting up of five Centres for Innovation, Invention, Incubation and Training (CIIIT).
The proposal for the setting up of the Prosecution Directorate under Section 20 of the Indian Civil Defence Code 2023 has been approved.
The CM said that the proposal regarding selection of successful bidders for running medical colleges on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode under the viability gap funding of the central government in the new districts of the state, including Hathras, Baghpat and Kasganj, has been approved.
The proposal for free transfer of 166 bedded Government Combined Hospital Balrampur to the Medical Education Department for the setting up of autonomous State Medical College, Balrampur and converting the satellite centre of KGMU being set up in Balrampur into autonomous State Medical College, Balrampur has been approved.
He said that under the UP Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022, the government order regarding allowing special facilities and concessions for mega category industrial units in the state, the approval proposal on the recommendations made in the high level authorised committee meeting constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary has been approved.
The proposal for approval of the recommendation/decision of the Empowered Committee meeting regarding approval of payment of subsidy amount payable to UPSIDA for the land allotted to Messers Ashok Leyland Limited under the Front End Land Subsidy provision allowed in the Promotion Policy 2023 for Foreign Direct Investment and Investment of Fortune 500 Companies has been approved by the Cabinet.
