UP: STF arrests Rs 1 lakh rewarded criminal in murder, robbery case

Kannauj, Jan 23 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) today arrested a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh from Kannauj district in connection with the murder of a woman and a robbery case.
According to STF Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Dixit, the arrested accused, identified as Pankaj Chauhan alias Jaswant, a resident of Nathai Deeh village in Baralampur district, had been absconding. He was arrested around 2:45 pm near a Nayara petrol pump in Kannauj.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Pankaj and his son-in-law Suraj Kashyap had been working as tile installers for several years. They had taken up a tile-laying job at the residence of Sunita Devi, a resident of Makrand Nagar in Kannauj. While working there, they came to know that the woman possessed a large amount of cash and jewellery. As part of a planned conspiracy, they gained her trust. Finding an opportunity, the accused tied up Sunita Devi and her daughter, looted the house, and fled. During the incident, Sunita Devi died due to suffocation after the accused stuffed cloth into her mouth.

Cyber fraud crackdown: Faridabad arrests six in three cases; Panchkula acts against suspects in crypto and investment scams

Panchkula, July 18 (UNI) Police in Faridabad and Panchkula have reported arrests in separate cyber-fraud cases involving alleged loan scams, hacked phones, malicious APK files, fake cryptocurrency platforms and fraudulent investment applications.
In Faridabad, the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ballabgarh, arrested six people in three cases, police said. Two men - Navneet Kumar Singh and Nitesh Kumar - were arrested in a case in which a Sector 11 resident was allegedly cheated of Rs 4.45 lakh on the pretext of arranging a bank loan.

Four held within 24 hours in Panchkula stabbing death; police cite two-year-old dispute as motive

Panchkula, July 18 (UNI) Panchkula Police have arrested four men within 24 hours in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old youth and injuries to his two friends in the Mansa Devi area, officials said on Saturday.
Police said the alleged attack stemmed from a dispute that began around two years ago over a comment related to body building by consuming protein powder.
