Domestic help transfers Rs 3.05 lakh using employer’s UPI in Gorakhpur, FIR registered

Gorakhpur, Nov 30 (UNI) A domestic help allegedly siphoned off Rs 3.05 lakh from the bank account of an elderly woman by misusing her UPI details over several months.
The fraud came to light when the victim noticed a sudden drop in her account balance during a routine bank inquiry. Based on the complaint, Cantt police registered a case of cheating and IT Act violations against the accused, Khushi Singh, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Mamta Singh, a resident of Mohaddipur, told police that her domestic worker, Chanchal Yadav from Sant Kabir Nagar, had been working at her home for nearly three years. During this period, Chanchal’s friend, Khushi Singh, also began coming to the house for work in May–June 2025.
