Himachal notifies rainy season vacation schedule; private schools asked to comply

Shimla, July 12 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBoSE), Dharamshala, has issued a new monsoon vacation schedule for schools in view of increasing risks due to heavy rainfall and flash floods. All private schools affiliated with the Board have been directed to strictly adhere to the government instructions.
The move comes after the tragic incident during the last monsoon when 13 school children were swept away in a cloudburst at Samaj village in Shimla district.
In a letter addressed to all principals and headmasters, Dr (Major) Vishal Sharma (HAS), Secretary of HPBoSE, stated that schools must remain closed as per the notified vacation periods based on geographical and climatic conditions.
