9 HP Police personnel complete SPCC Screener course

Kangra, July 14 (UNI). In a major boost to airport security, nine personnel from Himachal Pradesh Police have successfully completed the prestigious Standalone Screener (SPCC) course conducted at the Airport Authority of India’s ASTI Centre in Bhopal. Impressively, Himachal Pradesh Police personnel secured the top three positions in the course.
Kàngra district Additional Superintendent of Police Hitesh Lakhanpal told UNI that ten personnel from the Airport Security Unit (APSU), Kangra Airport, were nominated for the training, out of which nine cleared the course with flying colors. He said that with this accomplishment, APSU Kangra now has a total of nine trained and certified screeners, compared to just two earlier- significantly enhancing the airport’s operational security capacity.
ASP Lakhanpal said that prior to this, all nine personnel had also successfully completed the AVSEC Induction Course (5 days) and the AVSEC Basic Course (15 days), both mandatory for performing airport security duties, and certified by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).

Mild earthquake hits J&K’s Baramulla, tremors felt in several areas

According to official data, the tremor occurred at 7:10 pm with its epicentre located 19 km west-northwest of Srinagar.
