Visakhapatnam, Jan 28 (UNI) Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) Deputy Chairperson Durgesh Kumar Dubey, inaugurated the All India Major Ports (AIMP) Carrom Championship 2024-25 at the Port Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday by hoisting the AIMP Flag and releasing balloons.
The championship, which will conclude on January 30, features participation from nine major ports across the country: Mumbai, Deendayal, Kolkata, Chennai, Paradip, Jawaharlal Nehru, New Mangalore, Kamarajar, and the host port, Visakhapatnam Port Authority.
In his address on the occasion, Durgesh highlighted the importance of carrom as a game that requires skill, practice, and mental application, emphasizing its growing popularity across the country.
