Suspended Cong MLA Rahul Mankootathil attends Kerala Assembly session

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 15 (UNI) Suspended Congress MLA from Palakkad, Rahul Mankootathil, today attended the opening day of the 14th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly, defying objections raised by Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan.
Rahul, who is facing sexual assault allegations and is under a Crime Branch probe, arrived at the Assembly around 9:20 am in a private car accompanied by friends.
He was allotted a seat in the special block after Speaker A.N. Shamseer had earlier clarified that he would not be seated with the Opposition benches following his suspension from the Congress parliamentary party.
