Prof Surajit Dhara elected Fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences 2025

Hyderabad, Jan 15 (UNI) Professor Surajit Dhara, from the School of Physics at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been elected as a Fellow of the prestigious Indian Academy of Sciences for the year 2025.
Professor Dhara is renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to the field of liquid crystal science and technology.
His research spans a wide range of innovative areas, including the fundamental understanding of topological defects and colloidal interactions, the discovery of new states of colloidal organization enabled by topology, and the development of controllable motile particles for topological active matter.

Seethakka warns suppliers over delays, poor quality of Anganwadi goods

AP: Most wanted Maoist Hidma among 6 killed in encounter, weapons seized

Paderu, Nov 18 (UNI) The Maoists suffered a major blow on Tuesday as their Most wanted top leader Madvi Hidma alias Santhosh was among the six extremists killed in a fierce encounter at Maredumilli village in a dense forest area of the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh.
Hidma was carrying a cash reward of rupees one crore on his head and earned notoriety for committing major offences including killing of police personnel and political leaders. Hidma, who also operated as the self-styled Liberation Guerilla commander, had remained elusive for the past 25 years.
