Kannur bags Gold Cup in School Kalolsavam

Thrissur, Jan 18 (UNI) Kannur bagged the Gold Cup after a close fight featuring three former champions Thrissur, Palakkad and Kozhikode at the grand finale of the 64th State School Festrival held here on Sunday.
Actor Mohanlal jointly presented the 117.5 sovereign Gold cup to the winning Kannur district team at a glittering ceremony at a crowded venue at the Thekkinkadu maidan here this evening. Kannur lifted the cup winning 1028 points followed by Thrissur with 1023 points followed by Kozhikode.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Opposition leader V D Satheesan in the presence of Revenue Minister Rajan and Higher Education Minister R Bindu and Speaker A N Shamseer.
