Deve Gowda lashes out at Donald Trump

Bengaluru, Aug 1 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Rajya Sabha MP HD Deve Gowda today strongly condemned recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, calling them "baseless, ill-tempered, and irresponsible."
In a sharply worded public statement issued, Deve Gowda said Trump’s comments on India and its economy reflect a disturbing pattern of behavior from a leader who has been disrespectful not just to India but to nations across the world, including long-time U.S. allies.
“There is something fundamentally wrong with him which reason, diplomacy or statecraft cannot diagnose and address,” Deve Gowda stated, stopping short of harsher language, saying he did not want to lower Indian standards in public discourse.
