in India, destroy the States and the principles of federalism.
In his address at the concluding session of the third State conference of the Legal Wing
of the DMK in which senior DMK Leaders including party MP P Wilson and INDIA bloc
leaders and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal Congress took part, Mr Stalin said the
BJP was trying to destroy the states to create a one-government through the ONOE.
"This law will only be used to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi a dictator", he declared
and would destroy the principles of federalism.
Stating that the DMK legal department has a history, he said it has a dignity and a face of
knowledge.
"It was from our legal department that people like Justice Rathnavel Pandian emerged.",
he recalled.
Noting People from the legal profession have served well as Supreme Court judges, High
Court judges, Union and State Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs , he said they are
serving very well...Not only in the courts, but also in television debates, they expose the lies
of the opposition parties with their sharp , constructive and effective arguments.
"Thus, from this legal profession that supports the party, many Rathnavel Pandians should
emerge! That is, from our legal profession - District Judges - High Court Judges - Supreme
Court Judges should emerge", he said.
Citing the presence of many senior lawyers in the audience, Mr Stalin said "you should be
a guide for our young lawyers. We should provide training to young lawyers to develop a
vision of social justice along with a vision of law".
He said also said next, another important task before them was to initiate conversations to
ensure that social justice was followed in the appointment of judges, a demand the DMK
have been making continuously to ensure social justice.
Pointing out that legal experts like Mr Kapil Sibal, also Rajya Sabha MP, former Chief Election
Commissioner S.Y. Qureshi have organized a discussion titled “One Nation, One Election”,
Mr Stalin this was a much-needed discussion in today’s times!
"Through this conference, I want to tell everyone that as far as the BJP, which is in power
at the Centre, is concerned, it is trying to move the country towards a single culture of one
religion, one language, one culture, one dress, one food."
"That is why they have started the idea of one election. They are trying to destroy the states
to create a single government (in the country)", he said, coming down heavily on the Centre's
