Lakhs witness Lord Kallazhagar entry into Vaigai river

Chennai, May 12 (UNI) Lakhs of devotees from across Tamil Nadu on Monday witnessed the grand spectacle of Lord Kallazhagar' entry to River Vaigai in Madurai district.
The temple town of witnessed a sea of humanity as the Lord draped in Green Silk attire and mounted on a golden horse, entered the River amid chants of 'Govinda Govinda' by the teeming devotees, who had started assembling at the river bed right from yesterday evening to witness the grand annual spectacle being held as part of the 12-day annual Chithirai (marking the birth of first Tamil month) festival.
The deity was brought in a procession from the Azhagar Temple situated on the foothiils of Azhagar Malai, last evening.
