Saudi bus tragedy: Telangana announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for families of the dead

New Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 17 (UNI) The Telangana Government has initiated swift, multi-level action following the tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia in which several Indian pilgrims, including many from Telangana, are feared dead.
An official statement said tonight that the accident occurred around 0130 hours when a bus travelling from Makkah to Madinah collided with a diesel tanker about 30 km from Madinah
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed deep concern over the incident and directed senior officials to immediately gather complete and verified information. He instructed the Chief Secretary and the DGP to coordinate closely with the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and Saudi authorities to ascertain the details, particularly those relating to Telangana pilgrims.

Major fire guts almost 15 fishing boats in Kerala

Kollam (Kerala), Dec 7 (UNI) A massive fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at Kureepuzha in this district, gutting almost 15 fishing boats anchored along the Ashtamudi Lake.
The blaze, which began around 2 am, caused extensive damage to the vessels, fishing nets, and equipment owned by local fishermen.

Kochi, Dec 7 (UNI) In a major step towards enhancing passenger convenience, Turkish Airlines has partnered with Samsung to introduce a Smart Tagged Baggage Service, strengthening the airline’s digital transformation efforts.
The service enables passengers to track their baggage in real time using Samsung’s SmartThings Find technology, which works with Galaxy SmartTag devices. The feature ensures faster and more efficient detection of misplaced or delayed baggage, a release said.

Air India, Air India Express roll out major relief measures for stranded travellers
