India Women break records with historic 435/5

Rajkot, Jan 15 (UNI) India have set a new benchmark in women’s One-Day International cricket by registering their highest-ever total in Wednesday’s match against Ireland.
India posted an imposing 435/5, surpassing the previous highest total of 418/5, set by the Indian men's team against the West Indies in 2011 in Indore. This remarkable achievement is now the highest ODI total for any team, men's or women’s.
The record-breaking innings saw India dominate, with several significant contributions from the team. Among the standout performances, Pratika Rawal's exceptional knock of 154 runs played a crucial role. She was supported by Smriti Mandhana (135), the steadying influence of Richa Ghosh (59), who remains one of India’s top performers in ODIs.
India's total of 435/5 eclipsed several notable totals in women's ODI history, including New Zealand's 491/4 against Ireland in Dublin in 2018, and their own previous best of 440/3, also against Ireland in Dublin the same year.
The feat solidifies India’s growing prowess in the women’s game and adds a significant chapter to their cricketing history.
Deepti Sharma holds the record for the highest individual score by an India Women’s ODI player, with an unbeaten 188* against Ireland Women in Potchefstroom in 2017. Following her are Harmanpreet Kaur's impressive 171* against Australia Women in Derby in 2017 and Pratika Rawal’s 154 runs against Ireland Women in Rajkot in 2025.
Harmanpreet also features prominently with a knock of 143* against England Women in Canterbury in 2022, while Jaya Sharma’s 138* against Pakistan Women in Karachi in 2005 completes the list of top individual scores for India Women in ODIs.
