Deoghar’s tribal para-swimmer Harilal Tudu shines at 25th para swimming championship

Ranchi, Nov 17 ( UNI ) The 25th Para Swimming Championship 2025–26, currently underway in Hyderabad, brought a moment of pride for Jharkhand as Harilal Tudu, a young para-athlete from a poor tribal family in Deoghar district, created history with his outstanding performance.
Tudu clinched the gold medal in the 50-metre men’s backstroke event, finishing with an impressive timing of 00:46.06. His exceptional effort outperformed competitors from several states, securing Jharkhand a top position in the national event.
He further added to his achievements by winning the silver medal in the 50-metre freestyle event, clocking 00:37.00. The gold medalist in this category finished with a timing of 00:35.00, making Tudu’s performance noteworthy and commendable.
