Maharashtra: Five Killed in Head-On Collision on Barshi–Latur Highway

Solapur, Dec 1 (UNI) Five people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a car and a truck on the Barshi–Latur Highway in Solapur district on Sunday night. The accident took place near the Jambhalbet bridge, police said.
According to Barshi Police, the car was carrying seven passengers, including a newly married couple from Panvel. The couple — Aniket Gautam Kamble (28) and his wife Meghna Aniket Kamble — had married just five days earlier and were travelling with five relatives to visit a temple in Tuljapur.
As the vehicle reached the Jambhalbet bridge, it collided with a truck approaching from the opposite direction. The impact resulted in the death of five occupants of the car at site. The deceased were identified as Gautam Bhagwan Kamble (65), Jaya Gautam Kamble (60), Sarika Sanjay Waghmare (45), Sanjay Tukaram Waghmare (50), along with one more relative whose identity was not confirmed yet by authorities.
