FIR against Mumbai RPF constable for assaulting passenger misbehaving with woman

Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) The Chatrapatti Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Railway Police have registered a case against a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel for allegedly assaulting a passenger and misbehaving with his wife aboard the Konkan Kanya Express official said on Tuesday.
The complaint was initially lodge at Rajapur Police Station which was later to transferred to CSMT Railway Police Station, where a case has been registered against RPF constable under various sections on May 12.
According to police, on May 6, the complainant, Sunny Bhosale, had arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) with his wife and their 3-year-old daughter. The family was travelling to Rajapur in Ratnagiri district and had boarded the Konkan Kanya Express for the journey.
However, RPF constable Yuvraj Mali allegedly stopped them, stating that the compartment was reserved for passengers boarding at CSMT. This led to an argument, during which Mali reportedly assaulted Bhosale, and also pushed and abused his wife and young daughter.
During the incident, a bangle worn by Bhosale's wife broke, causing her to bleed. She has also accused the RPF jawan of publicly pushing and molesting her.
An argument broke out while they were being restrained,” said Vijay Tayde, Senior Police Inspector at CST Railway Police Station.
“Prima facie, it appears the incident occurred during the course of duty. We have called both the complainant and the accused officer to record their statements. The exact sequence of events will be determined through further investigation.”Tayde added.
