Trump doubts whether NATO will come to help US when in need

Washington, Jan 7 (UNI) US President Donald Trump on Wednesday cast doubt on whether NATO would come to Washington’s aid in a crisis, even as he said the United States would continue to honour its commitments to the military alliance.
“Russia and China have zero fear of NATO without the United States, and I doubt NATO would be there for us if we really needed them,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Trump said Washington would uphold its alliance obligations regardless of whether other members would reciprocate, adding that Russia and China “respect” the United States only under his leadership.
