Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif announces Dec 23 as auction date for PIA

Islamabad, Dec 4 (UNI) Formally announcing the auction of the country's national air carrier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the bidding process for state-owned Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will start on December 23.
Announcing full transparency of the PIA auction, the premier, during a meeting with business tycoons and representatives discussing the airline's privatisation, said that the auction would be televised live on national television.
Stating that restoring the once-acclaimed national airline's now degraded reputation was a key priority, he remarked that this process will be ensured through a smooth and credible transition, through full transparency.
