South Korea to invest USD 350 billion in US economy

Seoul, Nov 14 (UNI/SPUTNIK) South Korea has pledged to invest USD 350 billion in the economy of the United States under a memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries on Friday, South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jong-kwan told a briefing.
On October 29, US President Donald Trump and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung held talks in the South Korean city of Gyeongju. On Friday, The White House released a joint statement following the talks, highlighting the two leaders' agreement to invest in the US economy.
"Today, the governments of South Korea and the US, based on the agreements reached regarding investments of USD 350 billion, signed a memorandum of understanding concerning these strategic investments," the minister was quoted as saying by the Yonhap news agency.
