NIA chargesheets Bihar migrant labourer for conspiring with LeT, others in J&K

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted a migrant labourer from Bihar for supporting proscribed terrorist organisations, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), besides carrying out terror activities in Jammu & Kashmir and Tamil Nadu.
Akhalatur alias Mohammed Akhlaque Mujahid, hailing from Katihar district of Bihar, has been charged under sections 196 and 197 of BNS and Sections 13 (1) (b) & 39 of UA(P) Act in the chargesheet filed today in the NIA Special Court at Poonamallee in Chennai.
Employed as a labourer at a private construction site at Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu's Kanchipuram Lok Sabha constituency, the accused was arrested by police in April this year for his involvement in anti-national activities. NIA, which took over the case in view of its gravity, found during the investigation that the accused was in touch with LeT handlers in Pakistan through cyberspace and conspired with them to target Kafirs (non-believers) in Tamil Nadu.

Toxic smog blankets capital as AQI stays very poor

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) A dense layer of toxic smog continued to settle over the national capital on Monday morning, with air quality remaining in the 'very poor' category across multiple locations, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
At Abdul Kalam Road, the AQI was recorded at 394, indicating severely reduced air quality as the smog layer persisted through the morning hours.
