Nisha, Muskan clinch gold at Asian U19 Boxing Championships

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) India’s young women boxers produced a stellar performance at the U19 Asian Boxing Championships 2025, with Nisha (54 kg) and Muskan (57 kg) winning gold as the team bagged nine medals out of a possible ten.
According to a statement from the Boxing Federation of India, “India’s young women pugilists underlined their growing prowess in continental boxing as Nisha (54kg) and Muskan (57kg) clinched gold, and five others won silver, at the U19 Asian Boxing Championships 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday.”
“Of the 10 women boxers in U19 fray, nine will return with medals – including 2 golds, 5 silvers, and 2 bronzes – showcasing India’s status as an emerging powerhouse alongside countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and China,” the statement added.

Tokyo, July 18 (UNI) Home favorites Koki Watanabe and Akane Yamaguchi advanced to the men's and women's singles finals of the Japan Open on Saturday after winning their respective semifinal matches.
In an all-Japan men's singles semifinal, Watanabe edged compatriot Yushi Tanaka 19-21, 23-21, 21-19 in a 79-minute thriller to set up a title clash with France's Christo Popov, who defeated another Japanese player, Kodai Naraoka, 21-14, 21-11.
