Nissan to shut plants, cut 20k jobs globally by FY 2027

Tokyo, May 13 (UNI) Japan's Nissan Motor Co. announced on Tuesday that it will consolidate or shut down seven of its manufacturing plants worldwide and reduce its global workforce by 20,000 employees by fiscal year 2027.
The company also said it would withhold its profit forecast for fiscal year ending March 2026, citing uncertainties stemming from U.S. tariff policies.
Nissan reported a net loss of 670.8 billion yen (about 4.54 billion U.S. dollars) for the fiscal year ending March 2025, marking its first annual loss in four years.

Thimphu, (Bhutan), Nov 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the "conspirators" behind the deadly blast at Delhi's Red Fort "won't be spared," assuring that the government is taking the attack "very seriously."
"Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice," he said while speaking in Bhutan's Thimphu where he arrived for a two-day state visit.
