North East connects Film Festival to screen 12 regional films at Hyderabad IMAX

Hyderabad, Nov 11 (UNI) A special film festival celebrating India’s cultural and cinematic diversity will be held on November 21 and 22 at IMAX Theatre, Hyderabad, as part of the North East Connect programme.
Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TGFDC) Vice Chairperson and Managing Director Ch Priyanka on Tuesday said that the screenings will be held in Screen 4 and Screen 5 of the theatre, she said.
A total of 12 films will be showcased eight from various North Eastern states and four noted Telugu films. Prominent film Directors and personalities are also expected to take part in the festival.
Priyanka, along with officials, inspected the IMAX Theatre on Tuesday to review the arrangements. She directed the theatre management to ensure smooth screening facilities and comfortable seating for invitees and the audience.
The film festival is part of the broader North East Connect – A Techno Cultural Festival 2025, under which a series of cultural programmes and IT-related events will be organised across different venues in the city.
The inspection was attended by I&PR Director LLR Kishore Babu, CIE Radha Kishan, Deputy Director Yasa Venkateswarlu, IMAX General Manager Venkata Prasad, Qube representative Raghuram, UFO representative Sanjay, Machiraju Sai Prasad and others.
The films to be screened include regional cinema from Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Assam and Manipur, along with Telugu films such as Balagam, Naa Bangaaru Thalli, Pottel, and Mallesham.
Priyanka invited Hyderabad residents, film enthusiasts and students to attend the festival and experience the vibrant cultural diversity of India through cinema, adding that the event aims to bring together artistic expression and cultural understanding on a common platform.
