UP sees 25 pc decline in MMR; Maternal death review will be done on daily basis

Lucknow, Sep 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh has seen a decline of almost 25 percent in the maternal mortality rate (MMR) in the past decade, and to ensure its further decline a review of maternal deaths will now be done daily and corrective measures implemented in the respective district after identifying the cause. Amit Kumar Ghosh, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Medical and Health, issued these directives as part of on-going efforts to reduce the maternal mortality rate (MMR) in the state.
