Notable rise in women voter gender ratio in Himachal Pradesh: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nandita Gupta

Dharamshala , Dec 5 (UNI) A special drive launched by the Election Commission of India (ECI) has led to a notable rise in the women voter gender ratio in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nandita Gupta said today.
Ms. Gupta said the strength of any republic is reflected in the participation of its women, and the ECI has been consistently working to boost women’s involvement in the electoral process. To monitor this, the gender ratio—number of women voters per 1,000 male voters—is regularly assessed across all Assembly Constituencies, with targeted interventions planned wherever the numbers are found to be low.
According to the final publication of the Photo Electoral Rolls-2025, the State’s women voter gender ratio stood at 981. Focused awareness campaigns were subsequently launched in constituencies scoring below the State and district averages.
