Odisha BJP trying to convert government offices as party chamber, alleges opposition BJD

Bhubaneswar, Jan 14 (UNI) Ever since the BJP came to power in Odisha, overt attempts are being made to double up the government offices as the saffron party's political office, leading to the breakdown of the administrative setup, alleged Opposition Biju Janata Dal on Wednesday.
Condemning "such an undemocratic and unconstitutional move", the party spokesperson and media coordinator Lenin Mohanty accused the ruling BJP of "making a mockery" of the government machinery.
Citing an instance, Mohanty charged that a BJP party in-charge meeting has been officially scheduled to be held tomorrow in the Sambalpur district visit programme of the State Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.

Meghalaya coal mine blast: ‘Dead’ man turns out to be alive

Shillong, Feb 13 (UNI) In an apparent case of medical mis-judgement related to the dynamite blast at the Myngsnat-Thangsko coal mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills, an injured man who was declared dead was later found to be alive to the respite of his family.
Family members of the 44-year-old Shyambabu Singha had performed his last rites, believing he had succumbed to his injuries in the February 5 dynamite explosion.
