Odisha: CBI nabs MCL security inspector while accepting bribe in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar, June 11 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested a Security Inspector posted in the Orient Area of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) at Brajarajnagar in Odisha's Jharsuguda district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from an employee.
According to the CBI, the case was registered on June 11, following a complaint alleging that the accused, identified as Banshi Ram, had sought a bribe of Rs 5,000 from an MCL employee. The inspector allegedly demanded the money in return for allotting Sunday duty to the complainant on a rotational basis.
After verifying the allegations, the CBI laid a trap and apprehended the accused red-handed while he was allegedly accepting the bribe amount of Rs 5,000 from the complainant.
