Odisha EOW arrests Andhra Pradesh man in multi-state job scam

Bhubaneswar, May 9 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime Branch has arrested a key accused from Andhra Pradesh in connection with a massive inter-state job recruitment scam that allegedly duped thousands of job seekers across multiple states.
The accused, identified as Kalluri Tirupati of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, was apprehended and produced before the Second Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate in Eluru. He was brought to Odisha on transit remand and is scheduled to be produced before the designated OPID Act court in Cuttack on Saturday.
According to EOW sources, the case originated from a suo motu inquiry launched after a suspicious advertisement was published in a local Odia daily on December 18, 2023, by a so-called Aided School Welfare Society, which falsely projected itself as a government-supported educational organisation.
