Odisha Mission Shakti launches ‘Peetha on Wheels’ to promote raja festivities,women entrepreneurs

Bhubaneswar, June 11 (UNI) Odisha’s Mission Shakti Department on Thursday launched ‘Peetha on Wheels’, a unique mobile food initiative aimed at celebrating the Raja festival while creating new market opportunities for women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and promoting the state’s rich culinary heritage.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the initiative at the Subhadra Shakti Bazaar in Bhubaneswar and flagged off six specially designed vehicles that will serve traditional Odia delicacies at key locations across the city during the Raja festivities.
The mobile food units will offer a variety of traditional pithas, including Arisa, Kakara, Manda, Chakuli and Poda Pitha, along with popular local snacks such as Dahibara, Bara and Alu Chop. The products are being prepared and marketed by SHG members, providing them with direct access to consumers and wider business opportunities.
