Odisha to set up five fast-track courts to address crimes against women: Minister

Bhubaneswar, May 10 (UNI) The Odisha government will soon establish five fast-track courts across the state to handle cases related to crimes against women, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced on Saturday.
These fast-track courts will aim to resolve cases within one month to ensure timely justice for women victims, Harichandan said, while speaking at the 43rd Annual Conference of the Medico-Legal Society of Odisha (MLSO), the state branch of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine (IAFM).
He emphasised the crucial role of forensic medicine in delivering justice to women affected by crime, adding that police investigators must be equipped with knowledge in the medico-legal field.
