Oman confirms progress in Iran-U.S. nuclear talks, next round to be held in Muscat

Muscat, Apr 19 (UNI) Oman's Foreign Ministry confirmed Saturday that Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff have agreed to move into the next phase of negotiations aimed at reaching a fair, lasting, and binding agreement on Tehran's nuclear issues.
Araghchi and Witkoff held indirect talks earlier in the day in Rome, with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi mediating the discussions.
A spokesperson from the Omani Foreign Ministry said that dialogue and clear communication remain essential to achieving "a mutually credible agreement and understanding for the benefit of all concerned regionally and internationally."

Negotiations aim to defend National interests, do not mean surrender: Pezeshkian

Tehran, May 10 (UNI) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that the very basis of engaging in negotiations with the United States is to secure the country’s rights and firmly defend national interests, asserting that dialogue should not be interpreted as “surrender or retreat.”
Pezeshkian said the Iranian nation “will never bow before the enemy,” as reported by the Iranian state media.
