Opposition demands referral of key Bills to Standing Committees

New Delhi, Dec15 (UNI) The opposition on Monday urged the government to refer three significant bills to the respective Standing Committees, citing the need for thorough examination and broader consultations.
The bills in question are the Higher Education Commission Bill, Atomic Energy Bill, and VB G-RAM-G Bill.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh emphasized the importance of adhering to parliamentary traditions, stating, "The entire Opposition is demanding that these far-reaching Bills be referred to the Standing Committees concerned. We are hopeful that the Government will agree to this demand."
