Over 1,200 fruit-laden trucks cleared via Mughal Road: Divisional Commissioner

Srinagar, Sept 16 (UNI) The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg today said that over 1,200 stranded fruit-laden trucks have been allowed to move since yesterday through Mughal Road towards Jammu, following coordinated efforts by the administration.
Garg said fruit growers’ associations from across the Valley, including representatives of Shopian Fruit Mandi, yesterday met the administration and the Lieutenant Governor.
In response, the Chief Secretary reviewed the issue and a system was put in place to regulate traffic movement on Mughal Road on a rotational basis, up traffic one day and down traffic the next.

Omar suggests opening Awantipora air base for civilian flights during Srinagar airport closure
