Over 400 injured in southern Iran port blast: media reports

Tehran, Apr 26 (UNI) At least 406 people were injured in a large explosion at a port in Iran's southern province of Hormozgan on Saturday, the official news agency IRNA reported, citing Babak Yektaparast, spokesman for the country's Emergency Medical Services Organization.
The wounded have been transferred to nearby medical centers, Yektaparast said, adding that 15 ambulances and four ambulance buses were sent to the scene.
The blast, which occurred at a gas tank in the Port of Shahid Rajaee, has sent a huge column of smoke into the sky and caused extensive damage to nearby buildings and cars, the IRNA said.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the explosion, said the report.
Rapid reaction and rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene, and all activities have been suspended in the port, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
The death toll is not clear yet, and the number of injured is likely increasing, Tasnim said.
