Pakistan slip to eighth in WTC table after ICC sanction

Dubai, May 15 (UNI) Pakistan have been fined 40 per cent of their match fee and docked eight points in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship after being found guilty of maintaining a slow over rate during the opening Test against Bangladesh.
Pakistan were ruled to be eight overs short of the required target after time allowances were taken into consideration. The penalty has further hurt Pakistan's position in the WTC standings. Following the deduction, they now have only four points and have slipped to eighth place, sitting just above West Indies cricket team in the table.
Bangladesh had earlier secured a memorable 104-run victory in the first Test after a brilliant bowling performance on the final day. Fast bowler Nahid Rana starred with an outstanding five-wicket haul that helped Bangladesh wrap up the match.
